Finding it difficult to get insurance?

Every owner of a vehicle on the road in Quebec must have liability insurance under the Automobile Insurance Act. The minimum amount is $50,000 for private passenger vehicles. This covers damage you may cause with your vehicle. A mechanism does exist that guarantees access to this insurance.

Weight of
the snow

It’s important not to let too much snow or ice build up on your home’s roof or balcony. Don’t overload these structures to the point they end up sagging or collapsing. As a homeowner, you’re responsible for the maintenance of your home. Make sure that snow or ice build-up doesn’t present a risk for either the home’s inhabitants or passers-by.

Have a professional remove the snow or ice from your roof.

Tenants and insurance

The value of your belongings may not be very high, but it’s still worth getting them insured. In addition to insuring your personal property, your insurance also offers civil liability coverage. This will protect you should you ever be held liable for damage caused unintentionally to someone else.

Your personal belongings aren’t covered under the building owners’ insurance. It’s up to you to insure them.
